Lemonade
There are days when things go so wrong you could only shake your head and laugh. We had our yearbook photo shoot yesterday. After my name was called, all I thought about was getting my lipstick retouched FAST. I turned around and headed for the door I thought was right behind me. Everything that followed happened in slow motion. I wondered why everything seemed smoky outside. I ignored the minor oddity and kept my frantic pace. Then… BAM! I hit my face so hard on the glass wall the photographer asked, “What exploded?”.
After my ego recovered and all that was left was the throbbing bump on my forehead, I tried to see how I could’ve missed framed glass as wide as the door beside it. I couldn’t see what I saw seconds before the impact. Was I looking too far ahead? Was I too close to something that I couldn’t see it? Smoke got in my eyes?? I still couldn’t explain it. But I’m sure it’ll make a great metaphor someday. lol
After the shoot, someone stole my phone. To whoever took it: enjoy my phone, my pics (all 1400+ of them), and the karma that will eventually bite you in the ass.
At about 5pm, my friends and I had lunch (first meal of the day for some of us) at Tokyo Tokyo. We then saw My Only U (I’m sure some of them would deny it haha). We headed to Seaside along Macapagal Blvd. for a scrumptious dinner.
I was really touched by everyone who helped me try to get my phone back. I’m lucky to have great friends who saw me through my week of this-is-ridiculous kamalasan. At least may kwento ako ngayon di ba? ;P
Weird, my sister hit a glass wall last week.
Also, I’m sorry about your phone.
Ouch. I’m sorry about your phone and the bump on your forehead. :|
…It didn’t show in your yearbook photos, right?
I remember my dad getting bumped on the glass door, that’s when I went with him on a job site before I enrolled in college for the first time. His workers were doing their job, and then I saw him walking forward toward the door and then… TGG! Nabakat pa yung pawis ng mukha niya sa pintuan! Haha.
I checked if he was OK, he said “yes” then he walked outside - this time, properly. And the workers were laughing as he left. Nakakaawa sa part ko, but I did laugh for a little. Ang kintab kasi ng glass door!
I just hope the snatcher would get the punishment he deserve, and it should be a thousand times worse! And thank goodness for friends who cheer you up whenever you’re down. :)
Sorry for your phone. Sayang yun.
Friends make lemonade much sweeter.
When life throws you lemons you make a lemonade out of it and yes friends can make it sweeter indeed.
I am so sorry about your phone and I hope there is a way to get your phone back.
sa yearbook photo shoot niyo pa nangyari! must be in the alignment of the planets. your planet must be in the shadow of the sun’s ass or something. and i do believe in “gaba” (karma). magabaan rin yung kumuha.
naalala ko tuloy ang kantang may linyang “what a wonderful world”…
kamalas nga namang mawalan ng cellphone. but then again, i have to assume that you enjoyed the sumptuous meals you had that day. plus, the movie. argh. i hate filipino movies.
whoever took your phone will take over the “kamalasan” spell cast on you.
That’s an interesting way to look at it. Everything did turn around afterwards. :)
