(almost) Weekend Update
We all know the picture cliches so let me give you one picture to summarize the past weeks:

Mineral water bottle for perspective. This pile-o-doom is a little over 2 ft high.
I had to cram all of this, divided in not so small doses, into my cranium everyday for the past 3 weeks. I think I was so bangag that the night before our Patho exam, while attempting to re-heat my dinner, I watched it burst into flames inside the microwave instead. I’m still not sure if it was the foil or the styrofoam that was non-microwavable. It was probably both. But the bigger ka-shungakan was that I just stared at it. Luckily, my friend who was studying at the dorm pantry had more sense and put it out for me. lol.
After the 19 semestral and final exams were over and done with, I felt a bit invincible. It’s like driving to Baguio.Afterwards, all other trips feel a lot shorter.
We had our much needed year-ender party after the last exam. It was mostly like our usual batch parties: live music care of the band, all you can consume food and alcohol, and Optimus Prime (a friend’s beer bong, which is becoming a steady fixture in our parties). But this time we had the party at a friend’s resort-pretending-to-be-a-house. It was pretty damn funny to watch mostly drunk people drag, push, pull, throw (and all the other creative ways one can enter a body of water) each other fully clothed into the pool (and we were in Tagaytay!).
I didn’t drink as much as I usually do, to the disappointment of everyone who was waiting for my inner drunk English sailor to come out. I even managed to effectively hide/hang out at the pool table with those who wanted to stay dry. But I guess I wasn’t as sober as I thought either as I hit my head with the car door as we were leaving. :))
[I have more to write 'bout the last two months so expect a few more entries during the next few days. C'mon, you know you missed me. ;) haha]
Yay! You’re back! Toot whoot! I did miss you. Really. (And I never said it before, but I really like this Bituwinfish Ann. She seems so much genuinely happier than “Fighting Gravity Ann”.)
Yay! Flaming exploding food!
Yay! Drunken stories! Heh, now that’s an interesting spectacle… “Drunken Ann” version. :D (But don’t ruin too many brain cells.)
And whoah… your cram-stack. That’s a whole lotta learnin’.
My French classes are great. I continue Level 2 this coming April 26, although I’m not finished Level 1. My instructor told me I’m the best student in class. (I’m supplementing classes with computer based training — on my own time). It also really helped that I went on blog hiatus.
I also learned a few French cuss words, to note: “baisser” (noun) = a kiss… and baisse-moi = “f**k me”. I’m pretty sure that will come in handy one day. Ohhhhhh yeah. :P I know, I’m sick. (I wonder what part of me took French just to learn sexy words, heh.)
I bet the pile-o-rama in the photo above is not the entire thing, right? There must be books and more, er, books out there because I used to spot my big sis (who’s your schoolmate, btw; thank heavens she’s graduating already) always carrying around those with her. Toxic ang drama ever! Hahaha.
Yey! First year of med school is finally over! Ergo, party! Woot!
Glad you’re back. :-)
I stand corrected: Second year of med school… um… right? Ugh I’m getting senile! Kciao. XD
Yay! An update from you!
Also I can just imagine you staring at the burning food in the microwave:
“Oh look, the food is burning. lol.”
…
“Wait, that’s my dinner.”
…
“Wait, I’m in mortal danger. I think”
If our microwave’s burning, I’d panic my heart out. I would throw, like, a thousand buckets of water to it. Then I’ll shout for help as if the house is the one burning. :)

At last, a blog update! Haha.
Good thing you didn’t touch or open the microwave while the burning happened. You might get your hand burned, as well, you know. Nababangag ka naman, at that time, right? Lol.
I don’t drink, therefore I never got drunk before. I never imagined my vision spinning around like cartwheels with all of that drinking of liquor.
Halu Ann! It has been a long time! :D I was also silent from the blog world, just like you. And now, I’m back, just like you, too. Ahahah.
Hemingways, as of this moment, I am still wondering where the heck did your powers come from and you managed to put all that pile-of-doom into your head. I only have a 64-megabyte brain. Hahahah.
I think you were amazed at the sights and sounds of the “Chinese New Year Festival” inside that microwave oven. Good thing, there was a well-deserved parteeh to boot. :D
I’m back after a very long silence. Please revert my blog to its old URL (http://jakethemiserable.blogspot.com). It’s nice to be back here. :D :D
Ouch. That’s quite a lot of things to do. XD
Fruity> Shifts in perspectives do go a long way. :)
We actually near-heckled our Korean friend to teach us a few cuss words. But polite person that she is, all she gave us were the nicer ones.
baisse-moi..after I learn to pronounce that, I might be using that as well. lol!
Tala> yeah, toxic, every med student’s fave word. :) hehe
Ade> haha yeah, just add “the flames are so pretty…” LOL
Jmar> Well it was just the food that burst into flames..if it was the actual microwave, there would’ve been some actual running and screaming involved lol
Dan> The microwave didn’t get hot. My friend opened it and poured about 2 cups of water on the burning food.
Jake> weebee din sa yo!
Ako, I was forced to upgrade. lol.
Euri> yeah :P
THAT is a huge stack! it’s just fitting for you guys to celebrate ;D
Good thing you were able to put out the fire. Styrofoams fumes will spoil your food, and metal foils spark up when it’s electrons get excited at microwave frequencies. You’re right it’s both.
yeah. we missed you :)
It is nice to see you back dahling! OMG that is a huge stack. I can’t even go through with just one book but with all that? Oh my!
and missed you we did. :)
i can empathize, no, sympathize with the monstrous pile. congrats. i’ll sing to I Will Survive for you the next time our school guardhouse plays it. hehe. and that’s one steaming dinner. or non-dinner. :D
Oi, they’re your ‘office files’!
welcome back Ann!
Am curious here how you’d look when the “inner drunk English sailor” in you is out.
Congrats, invincible ka na nga.
